Privacy Policy

Welcome to Dispatched. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how your data is handled. This policy is written in plain language, not legal jargon.

The short version: Dispatched is a local-first app. Your data lives on your device, not on our servers. We use privacy-respecting analytics to improve the app, and we never sell, trade, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Your Data Stays on Your Device

Dispatched is built on a local-first architecture. This means your data never leaves your device unless you explicitly choose to interact with an external service (like GitHub). We do not operate backend servers that store your personal data.

What's stored locally

  • Session data: Claude Code session information (status, titles, timestamps) is detected and stored entirely on your Mac.
  • Project data: Repository paths, branch names, and project configurations remain on your device.
  • Settings and preferences: All app settings, notification preferences, and customizations are stored locally.
  • GitHub OAuth token: If you connect your GitHub account, the OAuth token is stored securely in your macOS Keychain. It is never transmitted to our servers.

Analytics

We use TelemetryDeck to collect anonymous usage analytics. TelemetryDeck is a privacy-first analytics provider that helps us understand how the app is used so we can make it better.

Here's what makes TelemetryDeck different:

  • It collects no personally identifiable information: no names, no emails, no IP addresses.
  • The vendor identifier is app-specific and cannot be used to track you across other apps.
  • All data is aggregated and anonymized before we ever see it.
  • TelemetryDeck is fully GDPR compliant and based in the EU.

We plan to add an opt-out toggle in Dispatched's settings in a future update.

Third-Party Services

We work with a small number of carefully selected third-party services that prioritize user privacy:

RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat for subscription management. RevenueCat assigns an anonymous customer ID to manage your subscription status. No personally identifiable information is shared with RevenueCat.

Paddle

Payments are processed by Paddle, our merchant of record. When you purchase a subscription, Paddle collects payment information directly. We do not have access to your full payment details. Please refer to Paddle's Privacy Policy for details.

GitHub API

When you connect your GitHub account, Dispatched communicates directly with the GitHub API to fetch repository data, issues, and pull request information. This data is fetched on-demand and is not stored on any server we operate. Your GitHub OAuth token remains securely stored in your macOS Keychain.

Data We Do NOT Collect

We want to be crystal clear about what we don't do:

  • We do not collect your name, email address, or other personally identifiable information.
  • We do not track your browsing activity or app usage across other apps.
  • We do not use cookies or similar tracking technologies.
  • We do not sell, trade, or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing.
  • We do not store your data on remote servers.

Data Security

Your GitHub OAuth token is stored in the macOS Keychain, which provides hardware-backed encryption. All communication with GitHub and third-party services uses HTTPS encryption.

Data Retention

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data. You can revoke GitHub access at any time through your GitHub account settings.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data. Since it's stored locally, you already have full access.
  • Delete your data by uninstalling the app or clearing its data at any time.
  • Opt out of analytics. A settings toggle is planned for a future release.
  • Revoke GitHub access by disconnecting through your GitHub account settings.
  • Request information about what data we process. Just contact us.

Compliance

Dispatched is designed with privacy regulations in mind:

  • GDPR: We minimize data collection, use privacy-first analytics (TelemetryDeck), and do not process personal data on our servers. You have full control over your data at all times.
  • CCPA: We do not sell personal information or collect personal information beyond what is described in this policy.

Children's Privacy

Dispatched is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
